Watch Your Downwind With Coyotes
by BGH Staff When calling coyotes, more often than not they will circle on a target they are
coming into and approach from the downwind side. Presumably they do this in
order to align what they smell, with what they are hearing.
This means that you should always have your downwind side camouflaged and have
an open shooting lane. If the area is heavily covered the coyote could come in
take a look and b...[Read More]
Tactical Locker Room
by Jeff Filler Use that 'locker room' scent you are wearing tactfully. Sometimes hunting down wind can't be avoided. Sometimes it can become part of your plan. We hunt rugged, hilly terrain ... and after an hour or two - we take on our natural 'locker room' scent. It can be used to advantage - to bump game at our timing. This is done to make sure that all people on the club are safe and do not need assistance.
With hectic schedules and the coming and going of...[Read More]
Climbing Stand Safety Tip

OK, you are safe - you have a string tied from the upper section that you are sitting on and the foot portion that slid 4-5 feet down the tree. All you have to do it pull the other section up, reposition ...[Read More]
What Time is it?
by Jim Boyd Are you sitting in your stand and moving your arm to see what time it is? Bad idea!
This is just another distraction - that averts your attention - and the movement may well cause deer to see you!
Outfit all of your stands - climbing, ladder and loc-on models, with an inexpensive analog watch like the one shown in the photos below! Get one with a Velcro band - the smaller version for yout...[Read More]
